Maurice FitzMaurice

  • As head coach, has won 7 National Championships and finished 2nd 6 times
  • Coached in 28 USA Hockey National Championship Tournaments
  • Coached 9 Olympians and 35 players that have gone on to coach at the prep or collegiate level
  • Joe Burke Award winner from the American College Coaches Association for outstanding contribution, support, and dedication to women’s ice hockey

2018 Vault Summer Training Program

The Connecticut Polar Bears will once again offer the Vault Summer Training Program for the 2018-19 season. 

The U16 group will be open to birth years 2002-2004. ​The U19 group will be open to birth years 1999-2002. 

Players will receive more than 120 hours of ice time and 20 games, including participation in the Beantown, NAHA and Stoney Creek tournaments. Click Here to View the Schedule. 

The training will be led by current Polar Bear coaches Maurice FitzMaurice and Janice Yang as well as current female collegiate players at the Division I and III levels. We will also bring in guest coaches from time to time including IPH Hockey.

  • Melissa Sheeran & Courtney Moriarity with SUNY Plattsburgh capturing the NEWHL Championship
    • & shoutout to Moriarity (2 Goals, 1 Assist) on being named to the All Tournament Team
  • Sarah Hughson & Meg Lahey with Elmira  College capturing the UCHC Championship​
    • & hats off to Hughson for her hat trick & assist in the Championship game. She was named Tournament MVP after netting 6 points (4G-2A) in the post season 
  • Meghan Keating & Coach Brooke Fernandez with Middlebury College capturing the NESCAC Championship
  • Teresa Segreti & Coach Maggie DiMasi with Norwich University capturing the NEHC Championship

U19-1 team goes undefeated in winning the USA Hockey New England Regional playing four games in 36 hours with only 8 skaters.
